Khalitya (Hair fall)
Hair fall is one of the minor diseases affecting approximately 1.7% of the world population and constantly challenging the physicians. Hair fall is described in Ayurveda as Khalitya Roga and classified as Kshudra Roga (minor disease) or Shiroroga (diseases of head & scalp).
It is a progressive disorder seen among people with a sedentary way of life; living stress induced hectic schedules along with indiscriminate dietary habits resulting in many disturbances and deficiencies in the body which directly reflect in loss of hair.
In modern science many drugs are used for treating hair fall but they have some limitations due to their adverse effects. In Ayurveda various Bahya and Abhyantar Chikitsa are prescribed for Khalitya. We can reduce & manage this rising problem of hair fall by modifying lifestyle, and undergoing purification therapy with natural Ayurveda medications.
Treatment regime adopted at Arth Ayurveda includes detoxification, Nasya, Shiroabyanga, Shirodhara, Rakthamokshana, Lepanam etc. Various drugs like Bhringraja Tailam, Malatyadi Tailam, Til Tailam, Asthiposhak Vati and Rasayana drugs are used for hair loss, based on the Prakruthi of a patient and root cause of the disorder.
